Top luxury label Dior have been appointed to collaborate with football club, Paris Saint Germain in designing kits for the players over at least the next two seasons.

Paris Saint Germain is a well-known football team across the board; playing in the top division of French football, with past players including names such as Ronaldinho, Thiago Silva, David Beckham, George Weah, Pauleta and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The pieces for the new project will be designed by Dior’s Artistic Director, Kim Jones, featuring both casual and formal looks, using specially crafted palettes of black, navy and blue.

Casual looks incorporates a statement Harrington Jacket, which features embroidered Paris Saint Germain patches and the Christian Dior icon initials. Under the jacket, each player will be sporting a unique combination of knitted sweaters, polo shirts with the same detailing. Each outfit will be finished with a pair of the Dior Explorer Derbies in a stealthy black leather. Each pair of shoes will have insoles which will be exclusively embossed in a silver film, with the player’s jersey numbers inside.

Each formal look contains a specially designed cashmere coat, which underneath, is layered with a jacket, shirt and pants combination to match. Finishing each formal look will be a pair of the Dior cap-toe Derbies. A timeless look for the club, they are sure to be one of the most fashionable looking teams on (and off) the pitch.

For football, and PSG in particular, this is an exciting step forward, merging the sport with current fashion and culture, through a powerful partnership of two prestige names. It is also the first time that the luxury fashion house have collaborated with a football team, marking a unique point in fashion and sporting history.
