This year, CP Company is celebrating its 50th year, which is a huge milestone for the leading Italian brand. Founded by Massimo Osti, the brand is well known for its unique design innovation, technical developments and simply acting the innovator for contemporary menswear.

As another instalment of the brand’s celebrations through this year, CP Company are joining up with Dutch brand, Patta, for another exciting collaboration. The first team up between the two labels occurred in 2019, which was described as “one of the most successful moments of [the brands] contemporary story”.

The 2019 capsule collection created a hybrid, between the classic CP Company design approach and Patta’s more streetwear-oriented styles. The collection featured darker, earthy tones, and consisted of a variety of pieces including outerwear such as rain and mac jackets, alongside everyday essentials like hoodies and joggers. Alongside the clothing, bucket hats were available, embellished with the classic CP Company Lens and detailing.

For their latest project together, the two brands are creating an updated capsule for the SS21 season. Once again, using the iconic technical materials from CP Company, the brands have bound together a slightly sportier looking aesthetic, highlighting the details of Patta’s classic pieces, such as coloured panels and pocket detailing.  The collection features three different items, which could be purchased individually or as a whole outfit – a tracksuit top, bottoms and a bucket hat to finish.

Patta took to their Instagram to release a teaser of the project. From the images, we can see a bold accent of khaki green, to finish the feature pocket on each piece, paying homage to the label. Each pocket look is once again finished with the classic monochrome CP Company lens. The lens has a metallic looking centre and has the logos of each label across surface in a contrasting bright white. In the images, you can appreciate the attention to detail in each piece, even going down to the zipper pull which is also embroidered with the two logos in the same white shade.

Since their initial teaser, CP Company have followed up with more imagery, whilst announcing that the official drop of the collection will be this Friday. For sure to be a sell-out, this collection would make a great purchase for anyone who’s into streetwear, or likes to collect archive pieces – as it’s a 50th anniversary special, we expect that this collection will be an unmissable opportunity to get your hands on something more memorable for the years to come.

Alongside the campaign imagery, CP Company have also featured a video with the band ‘OWN’ on their Instagram, seen to be sporting the garments, to coincide with the release. Based in Amsterdam, OWN are a young, upcoming band who released their debut eponymous album just last year. It’s great to see the two brands pairing up with smaller local artists, it gives the campaign a much more organic feel and highlights the mantra to support local projects (whether that be shops, creatives or local projects) – this past year especially has been a great learning curve for all of us and has highlighted the importance of supporting more independent businesses in such a time to create a wider sense of community.

In anticipation of the release, the brands have set up a joint website where you can view the full set of campaign images, plus preview the featured products in the collection in further detail. Take a look at the website by clicking here.
