Chris Brown is one of America’s most renowned popstars in music today. The star kickstarted his career 15 years ago, back in 2005, with the debut of his hit single ‘Run It!’ which topped the charts at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The hit made Brown the first artist since 1997 to top the chart with a debut single, making him one of the most promising, revolutionary acts within the industry at the time. Since then, Chris Brown has produced a number of timeless classics including ‘Yeah 3x’, ‘Don’t Wake Me Up’, ‘Ayo’ and ‘Say Goodbye’ (no doubt at least one or two of those titles are on your pre-drinking throwbacks playlist..).

The singer has worked with a number of huge names in the industry, including the likes of Ne-Yo, Nas, Nicki Minaj, David Guetta, Lil’ Wayne, Kid Ink, Tyga and Pitbull. Following the success of his last mixtape, which he collaborated on with Ray Jay, named ‘Burn My Name’, Chris Brown has recently released a new collaborative mixtape with Young Thug. The pair are hugely influential in the music industry, between the two of them, the artists rack up an impressive 66 million followers on Instagram.

The mixtape was first leaked on Chris Brown’s Instagram page, and was finally released with much anticipation on the 5^th May. ‘Slime & B’ has a total of 13 tracks, with features from contemporary superstars including Future and Gunna. Joint projects are often found uncommon within the music industry, usually artists release a collaborative single within the music industry, however, the pair are continuing a tradition within their partnerships, after previously releasing three other mixtapes in the past five years. Previously, Breezy and Thugger have worked on tracks including ‘Wrist (Remix)’, ‘Dat Night’ and ‘High End’ which has over 49 million views on Youtube, constantly setting the bar high within musical collaborations.

Young Thug, otherwise known as Jeffery Lamar Williams, has also been topping the charts regularly since his early career. Young Thug is renowned for his diverse, versatile music style, which has blown up over the past few years in modern American rap culture. Young Thug is a big name when it comes to collaborative tracks, just a few of his hit collaborative records include ‘Hot’ ft Gunna, ‘The London’ ft Travis Scott and J Cole, ‘Give No Fxcks’ ft. Travis Scott and Migos, Havana ft Camilla Cabello and ‘Goodbyes’ with Post Malone. The rappers first mixtape was debuted in 2011, called ‘I Came From Nothing’.

The new ‘Slime & B’ mixtape includes tracks constructed using Chris Brown’s iconic, slightly more romantic RNB style, including ‘Stolen’, whilst tracks such as ‘No Such Thing’ ft HoodBaby are more of his classic party style banger. ‘Go Crazy’ features on the mixtape which has already hit over 1.4 million views on Youtube, however, there has not yet been any official music videos released for the tracks. Other songs which feature on the tracklist include ‘Say You Love Me’ and ‘She Bumped Her Head’ ft Gunna.
