Time and time again, Nike and Virgil Abloh’s Off-White label are making revolutionary collaborations within the footwear industry… As you may of guessed, they’re back with yet another project, guaranteed to be a sell out for this season.
Recently, an image was leaked on social media, previewing their latest works – the Nike x Off-White Air Force 1 Mid. Unfortunately, only one image of the collaboration seems to have surfaced so far, but word is getting round that more will be to follow.
From the image, the new colourway consists of white and creamy shades, alongside hints of Royal Blue, grey and Hot Pink. The upper is layered with fabrics which include white synthetic material and features a streaky looking texture. Laces are looped and stretched across the top of the design, attached to each side of the foot, running through grey circular pads. The classic Off-White branding, stamped on the side of the shoe, is printed in a contrasting black. On the medial side of the foot, a translucent Nike Swoosh features almost over the top of the print, creating an unusual, blurred detail across the centre of the text. Up the heel and across the ankle and collar of the shoe runs a grid patterned fabric, creating a unique dynamic against the cleaner white layers. To finish the design, the rubberized sole comes in a the Air Force 1 signature white, with spots of bright Royal Blue, Hot Pink and grey, collected together in patches – each coloured patch has a marbled, layered effect, and is intricately detailed with rubber stars along the side of the sole.
