Celebrating 20 Years Of Nike & LeBron The Famous AF1 ‘Four Horsemen’ Lands This May

In celebration of Nike and LeBron James‘ 20-year partnership, Nike are bringing back an icon that was originally a player exclusive but is now for everyone – the Nike Air Force 1 Low ‘Four Horsemen.’

Like pieces on a chess board, the silhouettes design references the strategic moves LeBron and his inner circle played out on the court – dubbing themselves the Four Horsemen.

The Four Horsemen consists of LeBeron and his long-time friends who all play a role in his career – Maverick Carter, Randy Mims, and Rich Paul. The first initials of the four close friends can be seen stitched on the heel tabs of the new Air Force 1.

Air Force 1 Low’s were exclusively made by Nike for LeBron and his friends and family back in 2003. 20 years later and the Nike Air Force 1 Low ‘Four Horsemen’ is scheduled to release to the public May 5.

White tumbled leather has been applied to the upper while Deep Forest Green and Wolf Grey feature throughout the design – the Deep Forest Green is also a homage to LeBron‘s high school in Ohio.

The most noticeable unique feature is the knight chess piece stitched onto the lateral heels, alongside the first initials of the Four Horsemen.

Since its initial launch in 1982 as the first basketball trainer to feature Nike Air, the Air Force 1 has since taken a back seat from its basketball roots whilst it’s become a streetwear icon. However, the rich history of the sport remains as a fundamental element of the AF1 and fans of King James will view the upcoming AF1 ‘Four Horsemen’ as a true icon.

Nike’s Air Force 1 Low Four Horsemen in True White and Deep Forest Green launches from Nike SNKRS on Friday, May 5 at 8:00am for £134.95.
