In celebration of what would of been the late rappers 50th birthday, the Metaverse is hosting a VR concert experience, so fans all over the world can now enjoy music from The Notorious B.I.G. like never before.
Titled after one of his hit tracks “Sky’s the Limit,” the event is set to take place on Friday 16 December.
The event is being put together with the help of the estate of the rap legend and will feature Biggie performing a collection of his classics, as a “true-to-life, hyperrealistic” avatar.Â
The digital experience will take us to a virtually-recreated ’90s Brooklyn in The Brook on Meta Horizon Worlds. Writer and music journalist – Touré, will be performing as the speaking voice of Biggie.Â

The Notorious B.I.G. will be joined by Diddy, The LOX, Latti, Lil’ Cease, DJ Clark Kent and Nardo Wick – who will all be performing alongside the rapper.Â
Voletta Wallace, the mother of The Notorious B.I.G., had this to say: “Having the ability to create a variance of new opportunity to showcase my son Christopher’s music through the advancement of technology is hard for me to grasp at times.Â
“However, I’ve found so much excitment in the process of developing his avatar, understanding the value added for fans to experience him in ways unattainable until now. Thank you to all who have contributed to bringing this project to fruition.”Â
If The Notorious B.I.G. virtual concert experience is a success, who could be next? Tupac? Aaliyah? Bob Marley? Kurt Cobain? There’s a long list of artists who we’d love to experience a VR concert with and it’s truly a blessing that this is an option for us now.
