Bodega x Clarks Wallabee Collaboration Brings You The Perfect Winter Wallabee

By Rachel Tooley | November 13, 2019

A new collaboration from Clarks Originals and Bodega takes inspiration from the spread of cultural exchange and journey that the Wallabee shoe has travelled throughout the years. The classic silhouette started in the UK and became a trend overseas, all the way to Jamaica during the rise of the reggae/Ska movements. As Jamaicans began to travel to the USA, New York especially, the Clarks Wallabee was adopted by rap clans including Ghostface and Wu-Tang.

The mix of materials used in the collaborative design represents this sense of cultural diversity, including a variety of nubuck, leather and suede which is pieced together to create the upper of the shoe. In two colourways of blue and brown/black patchwork, this new collection embraces Bodega’s trademark look of classic, casual and understatedly cool. Its high moccasin style construction and clean structure create a timeless aesthetic, the unique look of the Wallabee is one of those that is effortlessly versatile. Black leather piping lines the edges of the shoe creating a neat construction upon the seams, whilst the ankle collar adds a grizzly edge with the use of neppy wool for extra texture and warmth. The comfort of the signature crepe sole and box cut toe makes it easier to dress up or down, from day to night without having to make any changes to a fit, and without worrying about the comfort or wear of this ageless staple.

The Bodega x Clarks Wallabees will be available from 15th November online and in-store at Bodega’s Boston store at 10am and Los Angeles at 11am.
