Aries & New Balance Lock Forces For a New & Refreshing AS Roma Kit

From Palace x Juventus, PSG x Jordan, and Off-White x AC Milan, we’ve seen a lot of football-fashion collaborations recently and the new Aries and New Balance AS Roma kit might just be one of the best ever.

Big, bright, and bold – the new AS Roma kit is a thing of beauty and I genuinely thing it would constitute a kit that I would personally chose to wear out, which is more than can be said for a lot of the new collaborative kits.

London-based brand Aries was founded by Roman-born Sofia Prantera, and with the help of AS Roma’s sponsor, New Balance, she’s helped craft a contemporary and unique on and off pitch collection.

Prantera explains: “To collaborate with an institution like AS Roma is the realisation of how sport, fashion, and culture have become intertwined.”

“Being Roman I understand how important this club is to the millions of fans in this city and around the world, and I wanted to reflect that through designs that celebrated Rome and conveyed its unique expression of football and fashion provenance.”

Just as I thought these football-fashion crossover were getting a little dry, we got our first look at the stunning  Drôle de Monsieur’s AS Monaco collaboration about a week ago, and now we get a look at Aries and AS Roma’s collaboration – which in my opinion, is the best one yet.

The new collaboration features an official on-pitch kit, which the team will sport in their Japanese tour when they play Yokohama F Marinos in Tokyo at the end of November.

The new kit sticks with the signature Giallorossi colourway, whilst boasting a diagonal streak of the yellow and red that has become a signature element of the club.

The kit is completed with matching socks and pro-shorts, while the goalkeeper jersey is a great mixture of Aries‘ infamous dyed colourways.

The collaborative kit collection also featured a pre-game element which consists of an all-black nylon training tracksuit, plus a limited-edition silver and gold jersey which portrays some of Rome’s rich history and iconic figures, including Julius Ceaser, Lupa Capitolina, and Lucius Versus.

The new kit and training tracksuit will make its debut when AS Roma take on Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday 6 November.
