Serie A champions, AC Milan and Virgil Abloh’s Off-White entered a three-year partnership in August 2022 and the duo have produced some of the finest football x fashion pieces to date and their latest collection slots in perfectly to the duo’s growing catalogue.
On Sunday 8 January when AC Milan drew 2-2 at home to Roma, the Milan side were seen in the tunnel boasting their new and unique pre-match Off-White collection.
The new pre-match collection is an evolved version from the 2022 edition, leaving some of Off-White’s signature detailing. Take a closer look at the gallery below.
The new collection features the double-breasted jacket in traditional AC Milan black with a red sleeve patch – a recurring detail since last year, representing the club’s “Wear Your Heart on Your Sleeve” campaign.
The campaign was introduced during AC Milan and Off-White‘s first collection in 2022, which encourages the Milan players to physically represent and support the causes they most believe in, and also incorporates Off-White’s “I Support” message, introduced by Virgil Abloh in 2020.
The most eye-catching feature on the blazer is only shown when the jacket is reversed. The reversed side unveils a greyscale interpretation of the club’s classic jersey stripes – with every design featuring each player’s squad number in traditional American collegiate style.
The squad were also seen rocking a new backpack and a high-necked, long-sleeved T-shirt in red, rounded off with thumb holes.
This is by far my favourite football x fashion partnership and while I don’t doubt that the duo will release many more fashion-forward drops in 2023, their latest suit designs are a good way to begin the year.
